What we collect: your email (for sign-in and the student badge), the profile info you choose to share, your listings and photos, and your in-app activity (saves, swipes, messages).
What others see: your display name, badge, class year, and bio. Your email is never shown. A listing's exact address is visible only to the lister and their matched renters; everyone else sees an approximate area.
What we don't do: sell your data, show ads against your messages, or share your info with anyone except the service providers that run the app (hosting, database, email delivery).
Counting visits. We count how many times each kind of page gets opened, and the city your internet connection reports. Never your exact location, and never coordinates. It's kept as a daily total per city, so there's no record of one person moving from page to page, and nothing links a visit to your account. This happens whether or not you're signed in.
Delete your account anytime from the app; your profile, listings, swipes, and messages go with it. Deletion happens immediately when you confirm it, not on a queue, and your uploaded photos and any documents you sent us are removed at the same time.
If you're in Florida, the Digital Bill of Rights (§ 501.715) gives you the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. The delete button does all of that in one step. If you'd rather ask us directly, email hello@crashmia.com and we'll respond within 45 days, as the statute requires. We won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.
Reporting a listing. Every listing page has a Report link. If a place is a scam, already gone, or the ad discriminates against you, tell us there; it goes straight to a person. Housing discrimination is illegal under the federal Fair Housing Act, and you can also report it to HUD.
Taking a listing down. If someone listed a property you own or manage without your say-so, or a listing uses your photos, email hello@crashmia.com with a link to the listing and how you're connected to the property. We'll take it down while we look into it, no lawyer needed to ask.
