Search that actually works

Addresses stay private
Everything is browseable by anyone, but exact addresses are only shared after both sides agree to connect.

Do I need a miami.edu email?
No — any email works, for renters and listers. Accounts with a miami.edu address get a verified UM badge automatically, which just adds trust to your profile.
How do I know listings are real?
UM accounts carry the verified badge, landlord accounts are vetted before they earn theirs, and listings expire after 14 days unless the lister renews them — so nothing stale stays up.
Can I find roommates on Crash, not just places?
Yes — Roomies works on the web and in the app. Post a card with your budget, dates, and areas, and browse other people looking to team up. Someone taps “Say hi”, you accept, and a chat opens. Listings can also advertise open roommate spots.
Does Crash handle the money?
No. Crash connects you and you handle payment directly with each other. We stay out of the transaction.
Am I allowed to sublet my place?
That depends on your lease — many allow it with landlord approval. Check your lease first. Crash is a platform for finding each other, not legal advice.
What does it cost?
Free to browse, free to list. Later we may add optional paid boosts for listings — the core stays free.
Is it only for UM?
For now. A housing app is only useful when it has real depth of listings near your campus, so we're building that at UM first.
